Privacy Policy


Purpose: To inform visitors to our organization’s website what information is being collected, how it is being used by the organization, how to request changes to this information, and what security measures are in place on the website.

Signing up for e-mail updates:  When you sign up to receive e-mail updates, we ask for your name and e-mail address.

Donating online:  When you donate online via our Authorize.net account, you must submit your name, credit card number and billing information. This information allows us to process and fulfill your donation and to notify you of your donation status.  United Way retains donor information provided by users in a secure database. This database may be used to verify donation transactions, thank supporters for their contributions, keep supporters informed or to solicit future donations. All information is secure and credit card information is not held in this database. Information in this database is not shared, traded, sold or rented to any third parties.

Online Registration: When you register online for United Way events, we maintain the personal information you provide in our local, non-web-based database to manage the event. Information in this database is not shared, traded, sold or rented to any third parties.

Your IP address: An IP address is a number assigned to your computer automatically when you use the internet. We use your IP address along with other users' IP addresses to track usage patterns and improve our Website. At no time is your IP address linked with anything that personally identifies the owner of the IP address.

Cookies: The United Way of Richland County website does not use cookies.

Opt-outs, Updates, Deletions:  Contact bcrider@unitedwayofrichlandcounty.org if you wish to be removed from our databases or to correct or update your information.

 

Refund Policy


Once confirmed, your donation is an unconditional and voluntary gift to the charity.  Generally, charities do not refund donations due to the difficulties with tax receipting.  Therefore, United Way of Richland County does not issue refunds to donors for tax-deductible contribution it processes.  Exceptions can be made if there are extenuating circumstances including, but not limited to system processing error or human error (extra "0's, duplicate amounts, etc.).  If you experience an error, please contact us immediately.

It is our policy to provide a refund when a mistake has occurred during the process of making the donation. You must request a refund within 30 days of making your donation via credit or debit card by calling our office at 419-525-2816 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday

In regard to event registration, refunds are only issued in the case of cancelled events.
